Delays and Online Shops

Release dates and game developers don't seem to mix well...

Anyway, our site will soon be moving to a new server and an Online Shop will be added where you'd be able to buy our games and download them directly to your pc. Nordick the Treasure Hunter, for Microsoft Windows, will be the first. A Linux version is being tested and will also be made available for purchase.

We've uploaded some more screenshots of Nordick, including the revamped main menu.

Nordick progress and more.

Nordick is nearing completion. We are working on it's last level at the moment and we've uploaded another screenshot and model renders of some of the monsters. We hope to have testing and the final touches done in November.

Our model of the Lambda shuttle is now up on Turbosquid, the blaster will be uploaded soon.

TurboSquid Marketplace

Our 3D modellers have uploaded some items to TurboSquid. More will be added during next week.

A model of Han Solo's blaster and a Lambda shuttle are some of the items to come.

Dream media and more...

We've uploaded a first look at the Executor Game Framework test game, called Dream. See embedded Youtube video below. Dream is a small FPS game being created for the sole purpose of testing our game framework, while it is in development. It helps to find bugs and also reveals the need for certain abilities which might otherwise not have been thought of; especially because the framework is being developed on top of the Panda3D game engine, which is not mainly being used to develop FPS games.

Please keep in mind that it is work in progress and does not represent the quality of the final product.

Last week we've started working on a World Editor for our framework. Up to now, our 3D modelling software has been used to put levels together, which makes it difficult when an entity needs custom properties. We hope to also add a shadow map generation ability to the editor.

Site Launch!

Today we are finally launching our website. Quasistellar Game Development has been a registered CC in South Africa for quite a few years and we are finally growing into what the company was established for: Game Development.

So far we have released an Afrikaans educational game, 'Bytjie Baklei'. This game is part of 'Dr. Miskruier Stories' which are educational audio/visual books for Microsoft Windows. 'Blindemol' is currently being developed for another one of these audio/visual books. Visit the 'Dr. Miskruier Stories' official website for more information (Site unavailable at present).

We are also working on a small 2D arcade game called Nordick the Treasure Hunter, which will be released in the near future.

In November 2008 the f

irst design documents and sketches were drawn for our first FPS game, which will be revealed soon. Panda3D was chosen as its game engine and Nvidia PhysX as its physics engine. Some of our 3D modelers and level designers are working on a small demo game, called Dream, for testing the framework that is being developed on top of the Panda3D engine. A video preview of Dream will soon be uploaded.

We are very happy to also anounce that, two months ago, a concept artist and a level designer joined our development team to help with the development of our FPS title.
